Innovate, innovation, innovators

Part-sponsored by Re-Gen, Daniel McCloskey, PhD student from Queen’s University Belfast’s School of Natural and Built Environment, visited us yesterday.

Daniel was accompanied by Ed Gmitrowicz, Innovate UK’s Project Monitoring Officer and an environmental consultant, and Dr Sarah Connolly, CEng MIMMM, Innovation Lead - Transforming Foundation Industries at Innovate UK. They are pictured with our Technical Development Manager Louth McMahon (he’s on the right).

The group viewed the progress on our Innovate UK-funded project. Re-Gen is the lead partner and is working with four Northern-Ireland based companies on a unique carbon reduction project using recycled materials.

Sarah, Ed and Daniel saw the functionality of our latest upgrade and discussed a range of issues related to the waste industry, such as the deployment of AI technology and the changing face of consumer plastics.
