Bid Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bid Specialist to join our growing team. This is a key role responsible for managing and delivering high-quality tender submissions that support our continued expansion across the UK and Ireland.

Working closely with teams across Operations, Commercial, Finance, and Sustainability, you will lead the development of compelling bids that clearly demonstrate our operational excellence, compliance standards, and environmental leadership within the waste and recycling sector

 

Key Responsibilities:

Bid & Tender Management

· Lead the full lifecycle of bids and tenders, from opportunity identification through to submission and award.

· Manage submissions across public and private sectors, including local authorities, frameworks, and commercial contracts.

· Develop bid plans and timelines to ensure all deadlines and milestones are achieved.

 

Tender Preparation

· Prepare and coordinate high-quality responses for PQQs, SQs, and ITTs.

· Compile technical responses, pricing schedules, mobilisation plans, method statements, and case studies.

· Ensure all submissions are compliant, well-structured, and aligned to client evaluation criteria.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

· Work cross-functionally with internal teams to gather accurate and up-to-date bid content.

· Manage client queries, presentations, and tender clarifications.

· Maintain and enhance a central library of bid materials and templates.

 

Commercial & Strategic Input

· Support commercial reviews including pricing, risk assessment, and contract terms.

· Contribute to bid strategy, win themes, and positioning.

· Ensure all submissions are commercially sound and operationally deliverable.

 

Continuous Improvement

· Drive improvements through post-bid reviews and analysis of feedback.

· Stay up to date with procurement trends, legislation, and sustainability requirements.

 

Essential Skills & Experience

· Proven experience in bid writing and tender management.

· Strong understanding of public procurement processes (PQQ, SQ, ITT, frameworks).

· Excellent writing skills with a high level of attention to detail.

· Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

· Commercial awareness with the ability to review pricing and contract requirements.

 

Desirable

· Experience within the waste, recycling, or environmental sector.

· Knowledge of environmental compliance and health & safety standards.

· Experience using procurement portals or bid management systems.
