Re-Gen Blue Bins at the Ready for National Recycling Week
Children are being encouraged to do their bit to protect the planet by collecting items that can be recycled.
That’s because Monday October 14 marks the beginning of National Recycling Week, where the goal is to get the public to recycle more.
To mark the occasion Re-Gen, a leading recycling company based in Newry, is celebrating National Recycling Week by distributing small blue bins to local schools to remind everyone to recycle their waste daily.
Joseph Doherty, Chief Executive of Re-Gen comments.
“The amount of rubbish generated by householders has been increasing steadily over the last 50 years,” he said.
“Re-Gen has delivered small blue bins to local schools as a gentle reminder to recycle their household waste for the good of the planet and future generations.
“We believe that explaining the importance of recycling from a young age is key to encouraging Northern householders to play their part for a decarbonized planet.”
“This week, like every week, we want to drive home the message that the blue bin is best when it comes lower carbon outputs and higher recycling rates.
Joseph Doherty praised the local children for all of their recycling efforts.
“Communities across Northern Ireland play a very important role in helping us do our job,” he said.
“At Re-Gen, we sort the waste using the latest and fastest developing technology, including robotics and artificial intelligence.
“We also produce high quality paper, plastic and metal recyclate which is used by local companies to make new products.”
