Jim King, Chair of the Waste Industry Safety and Health Forum NI (WISHNI), has delivered a pilot health and safety competency training course specifically for the waste industry to Re-Gen staff.

Jim said: “Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United once said that ‘what you see in training manifests itself on the game field’ and it is the same with health and safety. Training for safety is like training for football. It is not an optional extra that takes up time but is part of the game plan for everyone across the organisation. What you see in the training room has to appear on the picking lines or in the yard. That’s the only way Re-Gen can address incidents and accidents.”
